Supported Independent Living

New Era 4 Disability offers a participant and parent driven management model of Supported Independent Living (SIL). Created by three families (who have sons and a daughter living with a disability) to put choice and control where it belongs… with the person with a disability and the family who knows and loves them.

Our mission is to share our experience, our successful management model and the systems that have worked well for us and have made us certified NDIS providers. We are passionate about sharing this expertise and experience gained in providing our sons and daughters the life they deserve and us the peace of mind that they are well cared for and listened to.

We work side by side and in partnership with the participant and parent(s) to ensure each participant lifestyle choices are listened to and acted upon.

We want parents to be involved. As parents of young adults with significant disabilities and understand the importance for a person with a disability to live the best life possible and the support needed to reach their full potential and understand the fear a parent feels when thinking about their son’s or daughter’s future and what will happen to them when they are not able to care for them anymore. There is much comfort in having a say in the care your son or daughter receives and who delivers that care.

We offer full and transparent access to all policies and procedures, tasks being completed by support workers in real time and access to all interactions between management and support workers using up-to-date but easy to use software and apps.

Remarkable advancements in the quality of like of the participants we are responsible for have resulted. Participants and Parents are able to voice what they would like to achieve by holding regular meetings to discuss choices which then leads to happy housemates and relaxed parents.
